Weatherstone HOA Landscaping Committee and Information

Activities | Reports | Partners | Resources

Landscaping across Weatherstone's multiple tracts of land, including two Wildcat Reserve Parkway entrances, Stone Mountain Drive causeway, and Meyerwood short obelisk monument, is the second most valuable asset owned and maintained by the community. Extensive work is required every year to maintain, protect and refresh this integral part of the Weatherstone community. Several resident realtors estimate that beautifully designed and properly maintained common area landscaping adds approximately $30,000 in resale value to each home and makes Weatherstone distinctly standout when directly compared to the other 100+ Highlands Ranch neighborhoods.

Landscaping activities, analysis and plans are coordinated with a community volunteer committee under the direction of the Weatherstone board of directors.

 Walkthroughs - Monthly Landscape Walkthroughs

Weatherstone monthly landscape walk-throughs with the Landscape Committee occur on the second Thursday at 3 pm as noted below during the growing season. Meet at the Weatherstone neighborhood pool to review the condition and consider ideas for of all the HOA's-owned landscaped beds and streetscapes.

These walkthroughs travel by car across the neighborhood to review the condition of all monument, pool and streetscape landscaping. The Landscape Committee then collaborates with Lawn Care Solutions, Weatherstone’s landscape maintenance contractor, to set priorities for plant and tree maintenance and replacement according to available budget. The Landscape Committee also coordinates with Highlands Ranch Metro District regarding weed management and other maintenance issues related to trails within Weatherstone.

Plants that Survive Well in the Weatherstone Community.

Compiled in 2017 by members of the HOA’s Landscape Committee. This list was compiled to provide Weatherstone's landscape architect, Ivy Street Design, with hyper-local data to inform its development of a master landscape plan for our community. That plan, intended to refresh and update Weatherstone's 20-year-old landscaping, was presented at the March 29, 2018 annual homeowners meeting. Please reference Ivy Street Design’s PowerPoint presentation.
